miriam helen vollmeier

hello and welcome. nice to meet you!

miriam helen vollmeier (she/her; b. 1996, germany) is a communication designer, researcher and art director based in cologne, germany.

her work focuses on printed matter, products all around the field of editorial design, and the design and conception of visual and corporate identities.

until 2018, I studied communication design at the hochschule für gestaltung in schwäbisch gmünd, germany and visual communication at the arts university in bournemouth.

I was able to gain experience both at in-house design-departments and at design agencies. among others, i worked at neue projekt, mainz, at studio für gestaltung, cologne and for a while at studio spitzar, austria.

fascinated by:

semiotic, type, simple and uncluttered design, squares and circles, outlines, minimalist compositions and great clarity, furniture design, interiors, calm aesthetics.

I am convinced that objects and plants have a soul, feelings and names. I am obsessed with the hfg ulm. I believe that print is not dead. also in transparency, attention to detail and the disinhibiting effect of humour in everyday work.

my favourite band r n is khruangbin! love true-crime documentaries. and everything from wes anderson. favourite drink is pipi. during my teenage years, I danced linđo. I eat a croissant every morning — except in december, I swap to panettone

taking analogue pictures (canon ae1 / kodak gold), embroidering, knitting, baking cakes for roommates, cycling, singing in my croatian choir in cologne
