trag is a film about what we bring with us. a documentary that weaves together eight life stories; stories of migration, memory, identity, and of objects that carry more than meets the eye. eight stories, woven into a space of memory that does not explain, but opens up.

a project that came about during the second semester of my master’s degree and challenged me in many ways. i mean, i started this master’s after working full-time in an agency for six years. pace, timing, deadlines. returning to university was anything but a foregone conclusion for me; rather, it was a mixture of doubt and courage.(?)

perhaps that is precisely why i needed to undertake a project that is slower. and deeper. for me, this film is therefore also a sign of how much can happen when you allow yourself to start afresh. and now i find myself asking: is design sometimes about creating space? can you design atmospheres? and where does my authorship begin and end?
